Return to Netball – Covid-19 Guidance

We are delighted to be returning shortly to modified netball activity. The safety of all Fairlands members is paramount and so here are further details on procedures we must all follow in order to return safely to netball.

Before your first training session:
Read all the guidance. Ensure you follow the instructions in relation to netball activity.
Read the personal risk assessment template
Complete an ‘Opt-In’ form.
Familiarise yourself with the rule modifications shown here.

Before each Netball session
If you, or anyone in your household, is displaying COVID-19 symptoms, or are self-isolating, you must NOT attend netball activity for 14 days. This includes players, parents, supporters and official).
You should come changed ready for activity – changing facilities will not be available.
You should sanitise your hands and any personal equipment, eg water bottle, before leaving for netball.
Bring your own hand sanitiser.
Personal items such as water bottles should be clearly named and must not be shared.
You should follow the latest government guidance on travel to training/match venues.

At the Session
On arrival at the training or match venue, you should follow any traffic flow systems and remain 2m apart from those outside of your social bubble at all times. Spectators must remain 2m apart from each other and netball officials/coaches.
Coaches and captains will sanitise the balls and posts prior to activity. During training/matches, breaks will take place and everyone must sanitise their hands and coaches/captains should sanitise the balls.
We are not allowed to share bibs during netball activity. We have purchased a substantial number of additional bibs to facilitate this, but all players should be aware that changing positions may have to be restricted

After Netball
At the end of activity, all attendees should leave the court and venue straight away, following any venue-specific departure protocols and traffic flow systems. For Under-18s, a safe collection procedure and point will be pre-organised. Changing facilities should not be used.
All attendees should sanitise their hands and any personal equipment on leaving the venue.

Test and Trace
All attendees, including parents and spectators, must register for every session. In registering you will be confirming that:
You and your household members do not have any COVID-19 symptoms
You accept the risks of netball activity
Anyone showing symptoms must return home immediately and follow the government Test and Trace protocols.

Any attendee who develops COVID-19 symptoms up to 48 hours after any netball activity must report to the NHS Test and Trace scheme and arrange for a COVID-19 test.
If testing positive, you must notify Karen Jones – Fairlands COVID-19 Officer immediately
